Some students meet a picket line and scream at us \u201cwhy are you stopping us getting an education?\u201d as though education is a thing within the university that we prevented them getting to. And how you get to it doesn\u2019t matter, as though the path through the door with its gates made of a heady concoction of class society, UCAS applications, racism, and luck, is completely separate from it. All of that could never have anything to do with education, could it? Personally I couldn\u2019t wish for a better education than the one that lays bare the blockages in the path to get inside the university, because education ends in nothing but knowing the way we can\u2019t get to places, in a schooling in the types of negativity that at every moment cut and exclude, and its movement is their movement, in razing them, remembering them, and surpassing them, and finding them again. To act upon this is absolute knowing.<\/p>\n
