A number of years ago I began making small videos of fairy tales, alongside readings of literary miniatures in the art fairy tale [Kunstmärchen] style. I started because most of the available recordings of fairy tales are either audiobooks or videos with glitzy animations aimed at the technological transfixion of children by the endless scrolls YouTube and other large capitalist enterprises. Fairy tales have never been just for children, and represent literary relations between the teller and the told-to, between generations, and as a traditions in which symbolic mediation stands for the difficulties between generations: a tradition of broken and mended tradition. Each video is accompanied by a tiny piece of music, played on my dubious electric piano. This project has been on hold for a few years, but I hope to return to producing more videos soon. All of the current videos are below, and I hope you enjoy these great works of literature!
