This paper was given at the ‘Spiel/Play in Walter Benjamin’s Philosophy’ seminar at Freie Universität Berlin, 23-24.05.2025. As with all the frequent seminars with this group, chairs prepare introductions to set passages for collective reading (in this case section IX of ‘On Some Motifs in Baudelaire’ and the story ‘The Lucky Hand’).
