Mindfulness destroyed

I might have ruined the mindfulness exercise in my CBT group today. The therapist told us we had to imagine “somewhere we felt relaxed” and he talked us through concentrating on the smells and sounds and sights of this imagined place. Everyone else had chosen forests and beaches. Because I am not a fascist my chosen place was a nice Lebanese kebab shop in Berlin called Rissani – next to Görli, where you can buy low grade weed at any time of night. I mean I had many a relaxing night there. But when the therapist insisted we really concentrated on how it smelt I was just thinking about felafel and chilli sauce and weed and cracked up laughing. The rest of the group were all very unimpressed when I explained why.
